About Us
 |
|
We are currently working on the summer of 2012 tour. The Superior A’s will be hosting the MAFCA National Convention in Marquette, MI. The dates are June 18-22, 2012. Because this will be a rather extended trip we decided to start doing the planning way in advance. Because some of the country we plan on traveling through book up a year in advance we need some firm commitments in the next few months on certain portions of the trip.

We have planned to originate in the Reno/Sparks, NV area. This will allow people from all over the West Coast to join us at a central point to start the trip. The tour will take in Yellowstone National Park with two nights at the Old Faithful Inn (for those who register early) and the overflow at a near by hotel. Having two nights in Yellowstone will have ample opportunity to see the flora and fauna of this great park.

If you are at all interested please send us an email to be placed on the Summer Tour 2012 mailing list, or sign up at the Model A Times booth at the national convention in Vancouver, BC or swap meets we will be attending. But it is imperative that you book a year in advance to guarantee the space at the Old Faithful Inn. They only allowed us to block a few rooms and when those are gone they are gone. This park was visited by us last year in preparation for this tour and they will have a new visitors center completed by our visit and the hotel has been renovated and is very nice.

Upon leaving Yellowstone Park we will tour east, visiting Cody WY home of the Buffalo Bill Museum. Stops are planned at the Mt Rushmore monument, Crazy Horse Monument and other sites along the way. |

After the MAFCA convention we will travel to the vicinity of Dearborn, MI. We will spend two nights in the area giving the opportunity to visit Greenfield Village, and or the new MAFFI Model A Ford museum. |

We have made arrangements with a travel agent to handle all of the room reservations on this tour. This is a first for us, usually we have done all of the contacts in house, but because this is such a big tour and we anticipate a very popular tour we wanted to use some professional help to get the best rates and guidance in picking hotels along the route. The route is similar to our norm for Model A Times tours, all days less that 300 miles and some extra time or shorter days when there are scenic or interesting things to see.
To sign up for information about the trip, e-mail your information to SummerTour2012@earthlink.net. We will send out sign up forms to everyone in the next few months. The Yellowstone reservation requires payment one year in advance That is why we are getting such an early start on this tour. We look forward to a great tour and fun with our old and new friends. |
